A Note to My Grown Up Girl.....

My Dear Sweet Margaret,
I can not believe how fast you are growing up. Last night you slept in your bed all night by yourself. That may sound like not such a big deal to you now that you are a big enough girl to read this, but sleep has never been your thing. I can probably count on one hand the nights that you have slept all the way through the night without waking. Lately, when you wake, you potty and then get in the bed with me to cuddle and so we can keep each other warm in our drafty house. Last night, you did wake up to potty but returned to your bed and right to sleep! I was so proud! When I woke up at 5:30 and you still were in your bed, I was amazed and a little sad that this is just another sign that you are a big girl.
You have always been very attached to your mommy! Until lately you have not had a special toy that you could not do without. I have basically been your "lovey." Well, that has also changed. You and your special doll Madeline have been inseparable for about a week. You have brushed her teeth, dressed her several times a day, gotten her ready for school and bed, shared a tea party with her and carried her with you EVERYWHERE! We accidently left her at the lake yesterday and realized it about 10 minutes into our trip home. We promptly turned around because it was very obvious that you could not live without her for the several days that it would take to get her back. Tonight, as we were about 3 minutes from home, you realized that you left Madeline at your Mimi's house. You cried huge alligator tears and begged to turn around and get her. I was amazed. You finally decided, after calling Mimi on the cell phone, that Madeline would be ok until tomorrow. You decided that Mimi and the other babies there would take care of her until you could return to get her! You are so absolutely adorable and so caring toward your babies!
Tonight, you went to sleep very sweetly. You are such my sweet Angel. We sang the "I love you" song. Someday we will record it so we won't forget it. Thank you for being my sweet girl. I love you more than I could ever express.
your mommy
