Sick Again.....

I guess this is the time of the year to be sick! YUCK--it is NO fun. On Saturday, Margaret started running fever and feeling puny. She seemed a little better early Sunday morning but bu lunch she was feverish and not feeling well again. The same followed on Monday morning. Sunday night and Monday night we fought pretty high fever with Motrin, Tylenol, tepid wipe downs....this was not fun! Tuesday morning we headed for the doctor, expecting him to say that it was a virus we would have to just suffer through. NOT SO!! My sweet little pumpkin has an ear infection! I never would have guessed! She has not complained of anything hurting, even when I asked specifically about her ears! The doctor asked if she had been especially irritable--to which I answered YES! He said that was pretty typical. He decided not to check her for strep or the flu since the treatment would be the same. So, yesterday mid-morning we started antibiotic. This is only the third time Marg has taken antibiotic in her life! Yesterday afternoon after her nap, Marg's temp got up to 104!! I totally freaked out! I did not expect this since we had started the medicine and were still taking the Motrin. Last night was a little better. She tossed and turned but instead of fever had cold sweats--which are quite uncomfortable but not nearly as scary. Today, has been a good bit better. She ate a little lunch, the first real food she has seemed interested in since Saturday, and has played some. YEAH!! I think she is on the mend. Now, hopefully my sweet girl will come back and this angry child who is mad at whoever or whatever made her sick will vanish. I am a lucky mama that she has not been sick more.....it is really not fun!
