Fabulous Thursday

Margaret has been very 2 this week, so yesterday I decided that we needed a special day with lots of fun. Along with the obvious transitions she is going through with new house, new school, and seeing her Daddy less, she is also really missing her Guh-Guh who has been spending time helping out "EO" with our sweet little "Punkin." You would think that we have a new sibling instead of a cousin. Margaret has wet her pants a few times, started crawling on the floor saying she is "Punkin Yivia", slept with baby bottles the other night and has been really clingy. So yesterday we spent some special time having fun.
We started off the day bright and early (just after 6am) watching some cartoons. No, I do not let her watch TV much but at this early hour I am not opposed! However, since we do not have cable at the new house there is almost NOTHING suitable for her to watch so early. After watching a little YOGA, ETV finally had something on that she liked. After eating breakfast and dressing, we ventured out for a bike ride. It was a nice cool morning and Margaret was very excited about riding her bike to the "yibrary to tade books." I forgot to take a picture of this adventure! OOPS! We learned that not much opens in this small town before 9am. When we got to the library door it was locked. We walked around Fred's (which happened to be open a few minutes early) to kill some time. Margaret was delighted to go back to the library and see that it was open. We saw "Aunt Bobbia" and picked out 5 really good books. Aunt Bobbia shared a homeade bran muffin with Marg that she really enjoyed for her snack after her "yong ride home." After snack, we sat in the "soup bowl" (a papasan chair that we use as our reading spot) and read all of her books several times. She sure loves to read and we had so much fun!
For lunch we had a picnic on our side porch. Margarets favorite "plastic animals that not talk" joined us. One of our new neighbors came over to introduce herself and I think we will be good friends. She was very nice and Margaret was delighted to hear that she has a baby! She is already ready to go over and play with him.
This week we have battled naps and I did not want to do that today....and like a blessing from Above--we did not! Marg went to sleep very sweetly and slept longer than she has all week (an hour and 40 min). While she slept, I VERY quickly made the 4 curtains that I have not had time to make so far. I was extatic to get that done. They are now hanging and look pretty good--if I do say so myself. =-) After her nap, I promised my sweet monkey that we would bake. We mixed up Marg's favorite Chocolate pound cake--and turned it into six big cupcakes and a cake (it's a big recipe). The pictures show what part of baking Margaret enjoys the most! Thanks again to Margaret little boyfriend, Jacob, who gave her her apron. We wear it everytime we cook!
The last treat of the day was "Gandaddy" joining us for dinner. Margaret had a ball playing with him before and after we ate. I think Daddy was really tired by the time he left. She talked his ear off and took him from room to room to play. She sure does love her granddaddy!! We hope he will come to dinner with us more often! After a really busy and fun day, Margaret actually went to bed rather well. She was asleep by about 8:45 and slept (except waking up to potty twice) until 7am! YEAH! This was a really good day!!
