"Mommy you got yours hair cut!"

This morning while Margaret was at her "school" (mother's moring out) I got my hair cut. I decided a while back that I wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love. I was not sure if it was long enough, but this week I had become especially sick of it so I went today to see if we could make it work. At the longest point, the hairdresser cut off 12 inches! This was a little more than is even required! It is pretty short and is a quite a shock still to look in the mirror, but I keep reminding myself that some child with cancer will have a real wig from this hair that I was sick of! My goodness it is sad what we take for granted.
When I returned to pick up Margaret, she ran to me as she does and I picked her up and was talking to her teacher. She was sort of quiet and looking at me as I talked--trying to figure what was different I guess. All of a sudden she blurted out with a big smile and laugh "mommy you got yours hair cut!" She then announced "I yike your short hair, it like Guh-Guh's!" My mom really does not have short hair, but everything that is good or positive some how comes back to Guh-Guh these days. I think Marg is missing her a bit since she has to share her with new cousin Livia! We look forward to seeing Guh-Guh, Pumkin, and EO tomorrow!!

I kind of thought that maybe you'd gotten your hair cut when I talked to you on the phone and you said something was very noticiably different! I didn't know you were doing Locks of Love. I've thought of doing that myself. My first thought when I saw this picture of you was, "Wow! She looks so much like Matthew!"

By the way, I love the hair. I did the same thing last January, but you had more hair to give. I ended up with super short hair. It hadn't been that short since I was in the 3rd grade! Great cause! Good for you!

Your hair is great! I think I'm going to call my stylist right now! Mine is also driving me crazy and I need a change!

I don't think your hair has been this short since you were about Margaret's age! It is really cute!
