Margaret's First Day at Preschool

On Margaret's first day of school, I was awakened by my cell phone ringing just before 7am. My cousin Anne was on her way to work and wondered what was going on in front of my house. I was groggy and had no idea what she was talking about--although I remembered, as she was talking, hearing a siren that sounded really close about 15 minutes before. Anyway, I got up to find that we had no electricity!YIKES! What a way to start such an important day! I stepped outside to find that there had been an accident right down from my house. This was why the power was out--someone had hit the pole and it was down. The street was blocked off and it was a little bit of a mess.
Margaret was pretty excited to see the action and decided this was going to be a good day. She played "hide and seek" as we were getting ready. She has found some really cool places to hide! After getting dressed, we went to Mom's house for breakfast--since we had no power. Margaret was delighted to seeGuh-Guh, Grandpa and Uncle Mamu who happended to be in town for a dentist appointment. Margaret had oatmeal with frozen blueberries--her favorite--for breakfast. We all had a nice breakfast before we needed to leave to get Marg to school on time.

Margaret was a little nervous as she started down the steps toward her classroom, but as she progressed she got more and more excited. By the time we got into the courtyward she was running toward her door. Margaret did absolutely GREAT today for her first day at preschool. She was so excited that she ran up to the door! We found her name on the wall and hung up her bag. She hung onto her special doll Madeline "Na Na" and took in all that was going on. She did not even cry when I left. When I returned she was very proud of herself and we went to get a milkshake to celebrate. Margaret said that "the boys not nice but girls are nice." There are 6 boys and 6 girls in Margaret's class. She also said, when I asked her who she played with, " I jus got a toy and played by meself." I guess that is what kids this age do.

OK--GIVING UP! I WILL DO A NEW POST WITH THE REST OF THE PICTURES.....ITWILL BE OUT OF ORDER =-(

I can't wait to see the photos! I was at St. Andrews from 3K - 5K & to this day I think of it as a magical place! I hope Margaret has the same experience!!

That look in the second picture -- love it! She looks like a teenager looking at you like you've lost it! So funny!
