The Joy of Belly Casting!

Yes, these first pictures are from a little more than two years ago when Marg was still nice nad comfy in my belly. Belly casting is a tradition that we started with me. Melissa insisted that it was a good idea and I, against my will, as you can tell by my face in the pictures, let Melissa and Mom plaster me up! I must note that I was in labor and on bed rest as they casted me! I had been put on bed rest on Friday and attended a shower on Saturday and Sunday. This casting was on Sunday after that last shower. Margaret won the battle that she and my doctors were having and made it out on Wednesday--less than 72 hours after I was casted. I must admit that Melissa was right....the belly cast was a great idea and it was a great tradition to start. So, a little more than two years later we belly casted Melissa. We actually performed this task twice for Melissa since her cast has been requested as wall art by the lady who performed her 4D ultrasound! The first casting was right before Melissa's shower at Aunt Sandra's house several weeks ago. Please note the position of that hand on her belly--I was pretty tough to get out without messing up the cast! The second casting happenend in Uncle Jonny's beautiful bathroom at the beach. This walk in shower was the perfect place to make a mess and easy to clean up! Emily was present for this second casting but did not actually get her hands dirty! =-( We actually should do a third one since this baby has decided to stay in soooooo long! Melissa's belly is getting really big--even bigger than it looks in these pictures!
This is what we do with the belly cast once the baby is born! Isn't she sweet! It was amazing to put Margaret in back in the belly. She was quite a shaky baby at first who was a pretty fussy when she was not being held. She calmed right down when we put her back in the belly!
Maybe in another week or so we will have a new baby to put in the newest belly cast!
