My Tiger is Fascinated with GAMECOCKS?!

Yes, it is true....Margaret can not stop talking about the Gamecocks these days! At first, it was shocking and just a little bit funny to see her say "Go Gamecocks!" and pump her little arm like a cheerleader--but nowYIKES!! It has gotten out of hand. She has started saying that she like to watch the Gamecocks on TV and that she likes the Gamecocks even though mommy and daddy like the Tigers. Where did this come from?? Doesn't she know that there is ORANGE in her blood? I have tried ignoring these comments, laughing at her, telling her that we are TIGERS NOT GAMECOCKS...none of this really has seemed to work. So, tonight on our way home in the dark, she declared that there were Gamecocks in the woods and that she was not scared of them. She stated that one day when she was big she would go find them and that Guh-Guh would go with her! WHAT!! SHe said that Guh-Guh likes Gamecocks too! So, is all of this coming from my mom? Or maybe that Aunt and Uncle that were nice enough to babysit during the BIG disaster of a game actually brainwashed my child. If so, they did a really good job and she has not told on them yet! After she finished her speeeeeel of the Gamecocks in the woods and that they "used to be red, but now they are green" I decided to throw her off and I let out a "GO Gamecocks!" myself--I know this is really out of character and made me feel a little sick--but I was desparate. IT worked! She immediatly said, "no mommy, Go TIGERS. We go for the TIGERS!" So, is this all about defiance? It is going to be a long and not so easy adjustment if she really turns out to be a Gamecock. I actually hope it is just defiance and that we will get past it soon!
