Happy Memorial Day!
This has been a stressful past few days, despite all the fun we had a EO's house, so today we decided to have some fun. Jonathan and I both took the day off and spent time doing nothing but having fun with our girl. Margaret woke up this morning delighted about the "new special diaper" that she wore for sleeping last night. It is one of the Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers that Melissa got at the shower. It is obviously very comfortable and did not leak!
The fun began with a picnic at the park for lunch. We forgot the camera--oops! Margaret was intrigued by an army ant (REALLY BIG black ant) that was next to our picnic table. We fed him a some of her lunch and she was delighted. We had fun swinging, climbing and sliding after we ate. After nap, which actually went really well, we went to Emily's pool for the first time this summer. Margaret was VERY unsure about getting in at first. Emily and I were starting to worry what we would do at the beach after hearing her protests about the water! This child has gotten quite opinionated lately!! She finally decided that she could get in and have fun without her bathing suit--it was "too tight"--oops on my part! She also insisted on having sun glasses for much of the afternoon. Who knew that had such a high maintenance girl! This is new!
After she realized that the water was fun, we had a ball! Luckily I had an outfit in her bag that could double as a bathing suit! She kicked and jumped off the side without any complaints of back pain.
After lots of coaxing, Margaret tried on her swimmies and LOVED them! Hopefully, she will be a fish before the summer is over!
After all the fun we had today, it is hard to believe that there is anything wrong with Marg's back or with her at all. I am trying to feel better about the MRI on Friday. We did take her off of the medicine (something similar to Aleve but prescription liquid) that we have been giving her for the pain to see if it would make a difference and to make sure we were not putting her through a test that was unnecessary. Anyway, that was Thursday night. By Saturday, it was obvious that the medicine was helping and she needs it right now. She was a happy and playful girl today (as you can see) now that it is back in her system. I am calling tomorrow to pre-register at the hospital and ask questions about what to expect on Friday. Right now, I know that she can not eat after midnight until after the MRI at 10:15--UUGGGGG, and that she will get an IV when we get there and be asleep for the test. An anesthesiologist will be there to monitor her. If anyone thinks of anything that I should ask feel free to comment. I am a bit of a scatter brain these days!
